Wilf and Aunt Bec

Private Wilf Dexter

Wilf was orphaned in 1906, and his mother's sister Aunt Bec took over the upbringing of Wilf and his brother Jack. There is, significantly, a second birth certificate for Wilf Dexter dated the beginning of 1917. Aunt Bec made Wilf write to the army to make sure he didn't somehow get back to the front. There were three Dexter brothers in the Army. Wilf stayed in the Army, and was sent to France again in February 1918.

"March on the 42nd". (Black Watch regiment).

"Dear Old Home". Wilf sang this song at Great Ponton school.

Boer War Song, sung to a young Wilf by his father.
